We Won the Parole Appeal

Corrine was released on April 26, 2023

Our client, Corrine, served thirteen years in the Michigan Department of Corrections.  Corrine has become an advocate for other women who are or have been involved in violent relationships. Corrine participated in therapeutic programs to improve her own wellbeing, and continued her journey by serving as a peer facilitator to motivate others on their own paths to self-improvement. Corrine made the best of her incarceration and after her first parole interview, she was granted parole. When others filed baseless arguments against her parole, we immediately advocated on her behalf because we knew that she deserved to be released. The Court denied those arguments, agreed with the Parole Board's decision, and Corrine was finally released last week. We are so excited for her and cannot wait to see how she continues to use her advocacy to support other women!
