Appeals

Federal and State Appeals

If you have been convicted at trial, you have the right to appeal your sentence and/or conviction. If you have been convicted by plea, you can still file an appeal requesting that the appellate court review your plea-based conviction. Appellate practice is a specialty and the stakes on appeals are exceptionally high. Appeals demand exceptional written and oral advocacy at the highest levels of the profession.

Samantha is passionate about post-conviction work, including appeals in state and federal matters. Our office's appellate and post-conviction practice includes both state and federal appeals for the following issues:

  • Correction of Invalid Sentence
  • Newly discovered evidence
  • Motion for Relief from Judgment (6.500 Motion)
  • Motion for New Trial
  • Constitutional Violations
  • Petition for Habeas Corpus
  • Motion for Compassionate Release
  • Plea-Based Appeals
